Screen protectors help you save energy

They only protect your eyesight. The screen protector mode is another file that your computer executes and it uses up the same energy as it would without it.

It can even be more expensive as it consumes at the same rate as any other application when open. The screensaver was not designed for saving purposes; it was designed to prevent shadows forming as a result of staring at the screen for long periods.

The standby mode is the only mode that can save you money on your electricity bill. It is worth programming your computer to enter standby mode after a few minutes of inactivity.

According to the Applied Communications and Information Technologies Area of the University of Murcia, this saves 7.5 kWh compared with any other animated screen protector. In order to save energy it is advisable to reduce the brightness of your computer, or if you have a desktop and you are thinking of changing it, buy a laptop instead.
