What is the CUPS?

What is the CUPS?

The acronym CUPS corresponds to the Universal Supply Point Code. It is a 20 or 22 digit alphanumeric code starting with ES in Spain, and identifies each home or business electricity supply point. It is a unique, permanent and invariable code: it does not change if you switch tariff or supplier.

It is important to know where you can find it, as you'll be asked for it in certain circumstances such as when you apply for an electricity connection, switch electricity or gas supplier or change your service capacity. You can find it on any electricity or gas bill next to the contract holder's name.
