In 2000, Endesa Energy launched its commercial activities in Europe’s main free markets and currently supplies energy to customers in Germany, Andorra, Spain, France and Portugal. The management and European coordination of customers in these countries is carried out at the International Customers’ Offices in Madrid.
In 2006, Endesa Energy’s position advanced considerably in the main European free electric energy markets, with a portfolio of more than 5.5 TWh including Germany, Andorra, France and Portugal, which shows an increase of more than 20% if compared with the year before.
Endesa Energy is one of the main European electric companies, managing commercial operations in free energy markets and using a strategy that is targeted, fundamentally, at providing a global supply solution in those countries where it already has a presence.
In 2006, Endesa Energy ceased to be the leading supplier in Spain and Portugal, despite having a supply quote greater than 60% in both countries. On the other hand, Endesa Energy maintained its position in the markets in Germany, Andorra and France with a portfolio greater than 2.6 TWh.
Finally, in 2007, Endesa Energy focused on starting-up commercial activities in the Benelux states in order to provide a response to the combined management, with an international character, in Europe’s main industrial groups.
