Endesa - Electricity, Gas, People

When do you need to have a gas boiler inspected?

When do you need to have a gas boiler inspected?

There can be a lot of questions when it comes to the maintenance of heating and/or hot water in your home if you have a natural gas installation. When should the check be done? How much does it cost? Who does it?

To begin with, we need to differentiate between a gas boiler check and a gas installation inspection (meter, pipes, valves etc.). In this section we'll inform you about the differences between a boiler check and a gas installation inspection and the costs of each service.

You are responsible for the boiler check (you own the boiler): you must ensure that the boiler passes the checks and call an authorised professional specialist to certify it. Law dictates that this check is carried out at least every two years, but all manufacturers recommend annual checks to extend the life of your boiler and maximise its energy efficiency.

If you want your boiler to last longer and use less energy, you should have it checked once a year. You can have any authorised professional do this. Be aware that prices can vary substantially.

To avoid unpleasant surprises and to know exactly how much you'll have to pay, hiring a complete maintenance service is a good option.

With OkGas, everything's covered:

  • An annual check of your gas boiler to ensure its safety and energy efficiency. This reduces faults by a third.
  • An inspection of your gas installation: this is mandatory every 5 years and carries a higher cost (about €60, although this varies according to each autonomous community).
  • Unlimited resolution of breakdowns: with a free emergency phone number at your service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Other services only cover the check and breakdowns or even just the mandatory inspection or just breakdowns. OKGas takes care of it all so you don't have to worry about a thing.

You can pay for the service as part of your ordinary Endesa gas bill and enjoy a 50% de discount for the first year:
